Salary: High $40’s

 The Manager of Member Experience helps improve retention and elevate engagement of KDP members. This role also works closely with higher education chapters within a designated region of the United States. The position supports chapter officers and counselors to effectively recruit, retain, and train members so they may excel in community service, educational program development, and chapter operations.

Position Duties

  1. Work independently yet collaborates extensively with team members, clients, and volunteers.
  2. Conducts extensive outreach to new and existing members to encourage engagement and participation in the KDP community.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to build relationships to encourage long-term membership.
  4. Advise university chapter leaders regarding chapter plans and goals, personal and leadership development, officer training, chapter operations, and recruitment/retention and create/facilitate programming related to these topics.
  5. Research and learn the operations and capacity of assigned chapters in region. Track on-going interactions with assigned chapters to add to history and chapter profile.
  6. Maintain regular communication with assigned chapters via phone, text, and email. Respond to questions and concerns using established procedures. Provide feedback and follow-up with chapters on a regular and timely basis.
  7. Facilitate networking among chapters within a state or region to encourage idea sharing and building mentoring and supportive relationships among officers and counselors.
  8. Consult with chapters regarding organizational operations to ascertain their strengths and areas for improvement.
  9. Develop strategies for creative problem solving and recommend plans of action to meet member recruitment and retention goals for the region.
  10. Analyze information obtained and knowledge of organization policy and procedure to formulate new strategies and alternate plans of action for chapters.
  11. Create and deliver resource materials and training related to chapter operations to officers and counselors via phone, webinars, and limited face-to-face meetings.
  12. Research institutions within the dedicated region to solicit and recruit new chapters. Coordinates the chapter building process.
  13. Facilitates state network interactions (virtual) and serves as the national staff office representative.
  14. Assist as needed with planning and implementation of in-person regional/national, and virtual conferences.
  15. Travel on occasion to KDP-related conferences/events and chapter visits.
  16. Represent Kappa Delta Pi to institutional staff and faculty, department chairs and deans, and sometimes institution presidents.
  17. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or CEO.

 What You’ll Need for Success

The ideal candidate appreciates the needs of teacher candidates and teachers for Pre-K through 12th grade in the United States.

 Leadership experience with membership or chapter-based organization or non-profit association preferred, but not required. Sales, marketing, and customer service support are ideal.

 Working collaboratively with a network of chapters, membership, and a national office team is essential to the role, with the ability to successfully work with diverse constituencies, including college students, college faculty, new teachers, and experienced teachers.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge of education and/or teaching experience is helpful. A qualified candidate must be detail oriented, efficient, and highly organized.

 Strong candidates for this position will have:

  • Excellent written communication and editing skills to communicate with a well-educated audience (e.g., higher education students, faculty, teachers).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Experience with Office 365 Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to proactively complete tasks.
  • Ability to work remotely within central Indiana and work in the KDP office in a hybrid working model. KDP provides all equipment needed for remote and office work environments and pays a monthly stipend of $50 toward cell phones.
  • Ability to remain flexible and prioritize multiple projects in a tight, deadline-oriented environment.
